Roman’s story

From observing the future to building it.

While helping build Future Port Prague, Roman Lauš spent years around emerging technologies and the people turning them into companies. Alternative proteins stood out: a field where biology, food security and animal welfare met.

After mapping the market with scientists and cultivated-meat companies, Roman assembled a scientific team, began collaboration with Czech research institutions and built Mewery’s laboratory base in Brno. The original wish—to offer protein without slaughter—became a company focused on the harder question: how to produce it at scale.
